RESEARCH: Codes and conventions

 In class today we worked on improving our magazine analysis and explored the connotations of this magazine. We worked in groups and had discussions about each piece of information for example the masthead we all decided that the sans-serif tells the consumer that this is a modern magazine and is also powerful the connotations of the colour yellow immediately makes us happy however the mes-en-scene contrasts the masthead as it is a mute grey which is very dull and shows connotations of what life in the future could become very miserable due to human actions. 

Reflecting on my own first attempt this lesson has helped me understand where this information has come from, this has helped me improve my future analysations further. 

Moving forward i can see how important these decisions are when constructing a magazine and will keep this in mind when i construct my own magazine.
